About Dream Bio-Retinol + Shorea Butter Night Cream

Our Dream Night Cream features delicate vegan squalane and seed butters, like Shorea and Murumuru, to lock in moisture without clogging pores. Meanwhile bio-based retinoids derived from the medicinal herb, Picao Preto, are ideal for even the most sensitive skin. Apply nightly to increase cell turnover, revealing smoother, softer, and more even skin tone.

What are the Hero Ingredients of Dream?

  • Bio-Retinol - our plant-based retinol is sourced from the Picão Preto, a flower native to Brazil, which during clinical tests outperformed synthetic retinoids in protecting the cell from collagen loss and inflammation. It is also more gentle than synthetic retinoids which make it gentler on sensitive skin types.
  • Shorea Seed Butter - derived from the seeds of the Sal tree in India, Shorea Seeds soothe dry, itchy skin and add a naturally creamy texture to this cream
  • Squalane - a powerful emollient that allows your skin to retain precious moisture all night long

Is the bio-retinol safe to use during pregnancy?

Yes. While the name suggests it has the traditional retinol in it, the bio-retinol is a retinol alternative, meaning that the specific ingredient does not contain any retinoids, however, its mechanisms mimic the way a traditional retinol would. Therefore you can expect to see the same results that a traditional retinoid would give, but without the side effects.

What results should I expect from using Dream?

You should expect to see results within 4 - 6 weeks if you are using the Dream Night Cream consistently every night. From the results of the test group that used the main active ingredient within Dream, after 6 weeks of use, people saw their fine lines softened, and overall smoother and firmer skin, giving a more uniform appearance of skin color, controlled skin oiliness and increased skin elasticity.

Three Ships Beauty, Dream Bio-Retinol and Shorea Butter Night Cream, Radiance Grape Stem Cell and Squalane Day Cream Radiance vs Dream - Why use them together?

Dream is a thicker formula than Radiance due to the multiple different seed butters that are incorporated into the formula. It also contains bio-retinol which predominately is used to promote cell turnover and renew the skin while Radiance is full of antioxidants that protect the skin from free radicals. Therefore Radiance is best used in the morning because of the ingredients that provide a defense mechanism, while Dream is best used at night for the renewing mechanism, with the added bonus that sleep also contributes to the regeneration of the skin.

How is bio-retinol different from traditional retinol?

Traditional retinol is a vitamin A derivative. Bio-retinol is made from a plant chemical that is not a vitamin A derivative but works in a similar mechanism to the skin cells as traditional retinol would. From studies, it has shown that the bio-retinol mimics a similar mechanism to traditional retinol but doesn’t have the same side effects. It can be used for all skin types, during pregnancy, and even during the morning!
