Giving Tuesday: Gratitude Gift Baskets for Nurses at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre
In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, a day dedicated to generosity and kindness, our team organized a meaningful initiative to express our gratitude to the nurses at Princess Margaret Cancer Hospital who have worked closely with our co-founder, Laura during her health journey.
Recognizing their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to patient care, we decided to partner with Bathorium, Lohn, Knix and Brooklinen to fill 10 self-care gift baskets, valued at $400 each.
We wanted to acknowledge their selflessness and give back a small portion of the care they so generously provide to others every day. These gift baskets included our Three Ships’ Brighter Skin Bestsellers Kit, a generous giftcard from Knix, Bath salts from Bathorium, a candle from Lohn, and silk pillowcases and sleep masks from Brooklinen. It’s a perfect blend of relaxation and rejuvenation.
Delivering Self-Care
Our Toronto team assembled 10 baskets in our office, ensuring that these baskets were packaged with love and care. Connie and Laura then brought these gift baskets to Princess Margaret Cancer Hospital and surprised the nurses at Laura’s next appointment. The expressions of surprise, gratitude, and joy on their faces were priceless. It was a heartwarming moment of connection, a reminder that the simple act of giving can make all the difference in someone’s day.
Beyond the tangible items in the gift baskets, the initiative aimed to convey a message of appreciation and gratitude. We wanted the nurses to know that their efforts do not go unnoticed and that their own well-being was just as important as the care they provide to others. We hope that the impact extends beyond these immediate recipients, creating a ripple effect that highlights the importance of recognizing and supporting those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
As we reflect on the Giving Tuesday initiative at Princess Margaret Cancer Hospital, we are reminded of the profound impact that small acts of kindness can have--the smiles, the gratitude, and the shared sense of humanity serve as a testament to the transformative power of giving.
In honouring the nurses, we not only gave them a moment of self-care but we also hope to reinforce the idea that in giving, we receive something equally precious – a human connection that transcends the boundaries of gratitude and compassion.
